Jamshedpur students display yoga postures at inter school contest

Jamshedpur, July 3: The 2ndASISC Inter-School Yoga Competition was organised by Tarapore School at its auditorium. 18 city schools participated in the yoga competition. The event began with a short prayer which was followed by the lightning of lamp and a few words of encouragement by school chairman BD Bodhanwala, who was invited as the chief guest.

The event consisted of four categories- under 17 boys and girls and under 19 boys and girls. The events were further categorized into three sub categories – Athletic yoga, Artistic yoga and Rhythmic yoga.

In the Girls Under 17 Athletic Yoga- Bhargabhi Mandal  of  Narbheram Hansraj English School was first followed by Tiyasha Pangiyara of  Gulmohar High School and Anushka Pani  of  Vig English School.

In Boys Under 17 Athletic Yoga- first prize was bagged by Ritik Kumar Soni  of  K.P.S. Kadma, second was Priyanshu Bhowal of  Sri Krishna Public School and third prize was won by Kingsukh Nandi  of  Tagore Academy.

Swarnalee Chakraborty of J.H.Tarapore School was first, Indrani Pramanik of Little Flower School was second while Anshika Patel of  Tagore Academy was third in Girls Under 19-Athletic Yoga event.

In Boys Under 19 Athletic Yoga- Devesh of Narbheram Hansraj English School bagged the first prize followed by Sitanshu Sasmal of Narbheram Hansraj English School and Aditya Kumar Singh of  Dayanand Public School.

The programme ended successfully with a vote of thanks. This was the first time when Tarapore School had organized the ASISC inter school yoga competition and the event proved to be a grand success.
