Jamshedpur: Strict guidelines issued for Abua Awas, Birsa Harit Gram, and Maiya Samman Yojana

Jamshedpur: Acting on the directives of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ananya Mittal, a comprehensive review meeting was held to evaluate the progress of key rural development schemes, including Abua Awas Yojana, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, and  Maiya Samman Yojana. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Mr. Manish Kumar, saw the participation of all Block Development Officers (BDOs), DPM JSLPS, APO DRDA, and other officials through a virtual conference.

The DDC expressed strong displeasure regarding the incomplete registration and approval of beneficiaries under the Abua Awas Yojana for the financial year 2024-25. Despite clear priorities, many blocks had failed to meet their targets. Mr. Kumar issued strict instructions to all blocks to ensure 100% registration against the allocated target of 29,934 by September 26, warning of action against officers in case of delays or incorrect registrations.

During the meeting, it was also noted that the disbursement of the first, second, and third installments to approved beneficiaries under the Abua Awas Yojana for the 2023-24 fiscal year was progressing slowly. Officials were directed to expedite payment proposals and ensure rapid progress in construction, including geo-tagging of all houses at the plinth and lintel stages.

Under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, which focuses on promoting rural plantation, the DDC set a strict deadline for 100% completion of the plantation target by September 30, 2024. A district-level team will conduct site inspections starting September 24 to monitor progress.

Additionally, the DDC addressed issues with the Chief Minister Mainiyan Samman Yojana, particularly instances where payments had been delayed due to errors in bank account details or outdated KYC information. Officials were directed to coordinate with banks and ensure that all pending amounts are re-transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts.
