Jamshedpur, March 9: Police who reached Gwala Basti under Sidgora police station after receiving a complaint of dispute that had arisen after accusation of a minor’s molestation by a neighbor was reported, were greeted with stone pelting that damaged the windshield of their Jeep and led to some police personnel being injured. The incident occurred at 8 pm on Wednesday.

According to reports, a dispute started when a 13-year-old minor was molested by a neighbor. After this incident, the relatives of the victim who reached the house of the accused to complain were attacked with stones by the accused and his family members. When the police reached Gwala Basti under Sidgora police station after being informed of the incident on Wednesday night, both the victim and the accused family members got together and started attacking the police team with stones.

On the statement of Magistrate Abhay Kumar Himanshu, an FIR has been registered against 39 named and 200 unknown persons for obstructing government work, sabotage and abusing.

On the other hand, on the statement of the victim’s family, the police have accused Uttam Yadav, Prakash Yadav, Arvind Yadav, Pappu Yadav, Biru Yadav, Sunil Yadav and Kolesh Yadav of molesting the minor and pelting stones.
