Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum SSP Kishore Kaushal suspended three policemen for assaulting a driver during checking in Jugsalai.
Incidentally, on October 17, a checking campaign was conducted near Parvati Ghat under Jugsalai police station area. During this, Inspector Vikas Kumar of Jugsalai police station, constable Kashmir Mukhi and constable Anil Kumar Mahato of Tango detained Mohammed Zaid as his bullet (bike) was fitted with a pressure horn and a modified silencer and roughed him up.
Mohammed Zaid’s father Mohammed Zaheeruddin complained to East Singhbhum SSP.
After which the SSP ordered the case to be investigated by the concerned competent officer.
Investigation found that Vikas Kumar, Kashmir Mukhi and Anil Kumar Mahato, who were part of the patrol team, had accused Mohammed of using a modified bullet and beat up Zaid and used abusive language.
The checking team could have taken lawful action against him while remaining within the ambit of law.
After investigation, the SSP took action and suspended the three with immediate effect.
