Jamshedpur, Dec 4: A weekly review meeting was convened on Thursday by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Piyush Pandey at the police headquarters’ conference hall.

The session was held in the presence of the Superintendent of Police (City), bringing together all Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Inspectors, and Station House Officers (SHOs) from across the urban region to assess the city’s law-and-order preparedness.

During the meeting, the SSP conducted a detailed review of policing efforts across three key areas—curbing illegal narcotics trade, controlling the circulation of illegal firearms, and ensuring timely disposal of pending cases.

The officers shared updates on raids conducted, arrests made, and recoveries achieved over the past week.

*Crackdown on Illegal Narcotics
Emphasising the growing threat of drug trafficking, particularly the activities of drug peddlers, the SSP directed all officers to intensify surveillance and ground-level intelligence. He stressed the need for swift and coordinated action to dismantle networks involved in the sale and distribution of illegal substances.

* Action Against Illegal Arms
The SSP reviewed recent actions taken against illegal weapons and instructed police units to continue strict monitoring to prevent the circulation and misuse of unlawful arms. He highlighted that eliminating illegal weapons is crucial to reducing violent crime in urban areas.

* Disposal of Pending Cases
Progress on long-pending cases was also examined. Officers were instructed to expedite investigations, ensure proper documentation, and complete procedural requirements at the earliest. The SSP emphasised accountability and urged police teams to prioritise cases involving serious offences.

Throughout the meeting, the SSP issued necessary instructions to ensure more effective, visible, and result-oriented policing. He underlined the importance of consistent field action, improved coordination among units, and timely reporting to enhance overall crime prevention.

The weekly review meeting concluded with strict directives to all officers to maintain vigilance and take decisive action to safeguard public safety in the city.
