Jamshedpur, March 1: A cyber awareness program was organized for B.Ed. and Intermediate students at the Faculty of Education, Karim City College, Mango Campus. The event, conducted by the Grievance Redressal Cell of the B.Ed. Department, aimed to educate students about the growing risks of cybercrime and preventive measures.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jamshedpur, Kishor Kaushal, attended the program as the chief guest. He was welcomed by College Principal Dr. Mohammad Riaz and B.Ed. Department Head Sucheta Bhuiyan, who honored him with a bouquet and shawl. Addressing the students, SSP Kaushal emphasized the importance of staying vigilant against cyber threats and highlighted the dangers of falling into traps of greed, fear, and hesitation. He advised students never to share banking details or OTPs over the phone and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the cyber police station or by calling 1930.
The session was attended by key officials, including Azadnagar Police Station in-charge Chandan Kumar, Cyber Police Station in-charge and cyber expert Srinivas Kumar, and Azad Nagar Police Station Peace Committee Secretary Mukhtar Alam Khan. Cyber Police Station in-charge Srinivas Kumar also announced that B.Ed. students would be provided with a one-week online cyber awareness certificate course to deepen their understanding of cyber safety.
The program was conducted by B.Ed. teacher Nusrat Begum, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Department Head Dr. Sucheta Bhuiyan.
