Jamshedpur SSP directs for passport verification at home

Jamshedpur, Mar 20: East Singhbhum SSP M. Tamilvanan today directed police officials during a review meeting at the police hall in the Bistupur police station that passport verification and character proof certificates should only be issued after visiting the house of the applicant and not by asking the applicant to visit thana. 

The SSP threatened that if during verification done by police officials, it is found that the verification was not done properly by visiting the house of the applicant then the concerned police officer will face departmental action which would include show cause notice, withheld of promotion, salary and increment and even demotion. The SSP said that police officials who work well will be rewarded also. 
The SSP informed that in the last 20 years 950 cases are pending and directed that all pending cases should be disposed off at the earliest and directed that if needed new investigating officers should be appointed to look into pending cases.
