Jamshedpur SP leads anti-drug drive at SDSM School, urges students to stay addiction-free

Jamshedpur: To combat substance abuse and promote a drug-free society, the District Administration organized an impactful awareness programme titled “Nasha Mukti Jagurukta Abhiyaan” at S.D.S.M. School for Excellence. The event, attended by around 400 students and teachers, was inaugurated with the slogan “Nashe ki lat chhodein, jeevan se nata jodein” emphasizing the urgency of addressing addiction issues.

City SP, Kumar Shivashish, advised students to stay busy with hobbies and to avoid bad habits, stating, “The country is nothing without its people. The end is tragic for those caught in addiction, so free yourself from it.”

Chairman Diwakar Singh highlighted that substance abuse is affecting children as young as 14 to 21 years, making early intervention crucial.

City DSP, Manoj Thakur, urged students to become role models, motivating others to break free from addiction. “Be a beacon of change,” he said.

The programme also included speeches from various dignitaries, including City Inspector Nityanand Prasad and Officer Incharge Gulam Rabbani, who underscored the long-term effects of substance abuse.

The event concluded with an interactive session conducted by Meraki Trust, where experts patiently addressed students’ concerns about addiction. Principal Moushumi Das thanked the guests for their valuable insights and support.
