Jamshedpur, June 3: Sixth seed in the qualifying draw of Men’s Open Singles bites dust in the opening day of the TATA STEEL AITA Men’s National Ranking 1 Lac Prize Money Tennis Tournament 2023, held at the synthetic courts of the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday, June 3
Unseeded in the qualifying draw, Parth Somani of Maharashtra did not have to sweat much to upset Bengal’s Aakarsh Agarwal, seeded 6th in the draw, as the former won by a straight 6-1,6-0. Top seeded Atharva Sharma, ranked at 37 in India moved into the main draw by an easy win against Gujarat’s Farhaan S Patrawala. Sharma won by 6-1,6-1.
Remaining final round qualifying matches will be held at 08:00 am.
