Jamshedpur: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry election on September 26

Jamshedpur, Aug 30: The 72nd Annual General Meeting and election of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. The announcement was made during the 15th working committee meeting of the 2021-23 session, informed SCCI General Secretary Manav Kedia.

As the 2021-23 session nears its conclusion, the forthcoming elections will determine the selection of 30 working committee members, 5 trustees and 11 office bearers. The Singhbhum Chamber, registered under the Company Act, is mandated to conduct elections and convene a general meeting by the end of September in accordance with the regulations. The decisions were ratified following approval from members during the working committee meeting.

The upcoming elections will also see the selection of five trustees whose four-year term is concluding. The schedule for the elections and general meeting is outlined as follows:

1. Availability of nomination forms: Starting from September 9, 2023
2. Nomination filing dates: September 12-13, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
3. Scrutiny of Nomination Papers: September 15, 2023
4. Publication of the list of qualified candidates in the Chamber: September 15, 2023, at 8:00 PM
5. Date of withdrawal of nomination: September 16, 2023, by 7:00 PM
6. Publication of the final list of candidates: September 16, 2023, by 9:00 PM
7. Opening of the site for remote e-voting: September 23, 2023, from 10:00 AM to September 25, 2023, until 5:00 PM
8. Annual General Meeting: Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 9:00 AM at the Chamber Building
9. Voting in Chamber Building: Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (if required)

The appointed election officers include CA NK Jain, RK Jhunjhunwala, Advocate PS Sen, CA Ramakant Gupta, and Advocate SN Khandelwal. The role of scrutinizer will be undertaken by CA Jagdish Khandelwal.
