Jamshedpur Sikhs celebrate 555th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with Grand Nagar Kirtan

Jamshedpur: The Sikh community in Jamshedpur came together in large numbers to celebrate the 555th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with a grand Nagar Kirtan that began from the Sonari Gurudwara.

The city resonated with devotional fervor as thousands of devotees participated, spreading messages of faith, harmony, and mutual brotherhood.

Prominent leader Amarpreet Singh Kale joined the Nagar Kirtan, receiving blessings from Guru Granth Sahib Ji and sharing in the spirit of devotion.

Kale emphasized the timeless relevance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings, which promote unity, equality, and global peace.

“Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and message inspire us to eradicate untouchability, end discrimination, and foster harmony. Following his path can help create a peaceful and inclusive society,” he remarked.

The Nagar Kirtan featured vibrant Bhajan-Kirtan performances and Langar Seva (community kitchen), with devotees energetically conveying Guru Maharaj Ji’s messages to the wider community.

The holy procession traversed the city with great enthusiasm, creating a serene and uplifting atmosphere.

Kale extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC), Gurudwara Prabandhak Committees, Sikh Naujwan Sabha, Stree Satsang Sabha, as well as the police and administrative authorities.

He lauded their efforts in ensuring the event’s success, highlighting the seamless organization of Seva Camps and the peaceful conduct of the celebrations.

“The life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji transcend community boundaries. He is a universal inspiration, and his ideals can guide humanity toward a harmonious coexistence,” Kale added.

This grand celebration, marked by dedication and devotion, infused new energy among the devotees, inspiring them to embrace Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of love, equality, and service in their daily lives.

Dignitaries seek blessings at Nagar Kirtan 
Jamshedpur: The Nagar Kirtan commenced with great enthusiasm and devotion at 11:15 AM today after Ardaas (prayer) at Sonari Gurudwara. The sacred Palaki Sahib procession drew hundreds of devotees, including prominent leaders like former minister Saryu Rai, who offered prayers at the Palaki Sahib.
The procession, organized by the Central Gurudwara Committee (CGPC), concluded at Sakchi Gurudwara at 6:00 PM after passing through various parts of the city. Along the way, devotees faced inconvenience due to the lack of temporary toilet facilities.
Prominent personalities like Purnima Sahu, Tarun De, and Ajay Kumar, among others, paid their respects. Central Gurudwara Committee members, including President Sardar Bhagwan Singh, Chairman Sardar Shailendra Singh, and General Secretary Amarjeet Singh, were present alongside several other committee members like Sardar Gurmeet Singh Totte and Sardar Surender Singh Shinde.
In the absence of Sardar Amrik Singh, President of the Central Sikh Youth Committee, senior members such as Trilochan Singh, Sukhwant Singh, and Harshdeep Singh efficiently managed traffic control along with volunteers.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ananya Mittal also joined the devotees, observing the procession near his residence. The Sikh Youth Brigade honored him with a badge for his support.
An incident near Keenan Stadium highlighted the significance of CGPC’s ambulance service, managed by the Sikh Youth Brigade. A woman facing respiratory distress was promptly transported for medical assistance, and her condition was reported stable.
Leading the Nagar Kirtan were horseback riders, followed by Turban Classes, three Gatka groups, school children, Palaki Sahib, and women’s prayer groups. Sardar Amarpreet Singh Kale accompanied the procession from Sonari to Sakchi, adding to the spirit of the event.
The Nagar Kirtan showcased unity, devotion, and the Sikh community’s dedication to service and faith.
