Jamshedpur: Six days after being shot by scooter and bike-borne assailants on Dhâtkidih Main Road, Shubham Ghosh alias Shivam, a resident of Dhâtkidih Harijan Basti, succumbed to his injuries at RIMS Hospital in Ranchi on Tuesday night. Shubham had been shot five times—three bullets hit his chest, one struck his neck, and another was lodged near his eye.
According to his father, Munna Ghosh, Shubham passed away while doctors were preparing for surgery to remove the bullets. Initially treated in the ICU at TMH for four days, he was later referred to RIMS. His body has been kept in the mortuary, and the post-mortem is scheduled for Wednesday.
Shubham was attacked on February 19 while he was out with his friends Rahul and Kashinath. Following the incident, Bistupur police arrested all the accused from Kolkata. The suspects include Manoj Vibhar, Vishal Vibhar (from Kadma Link Road), Soeb Akhtar alias Shibu, Md. Asif, Parvez Khan alias Kaish (from Kadma Shastrinagar Block No. 2), Somesh Rao alias Shibu (from Kadma Ramjanam Nagar), and Sonu Jha (from Telco Premnagar).
