Jamshedpur: Security forces recover 15 pressure cooker bombs in Seraikela

Jamshedpur, Jan 19: In a breakthrough, security forces on Wednesday recovered 15 pressure cooker bombs, suspected to have been planted by Maoists. 

The bombs were planted along a road in Kaderango forest in Seraikela-Kharswan district. As the news spread, a bomb disposal squad cordoned off the area and defused the IEDs.

Sources informed that Seraikela Kharsawan Police have been achieving success continuously for the last few months against Maoists. While many ultras are being arrested at the same time, several Naxalites are also surrendering. Simultaneously, during the police search operation, many successes have been made by recovering the ID and explosive device laid to target police.  

Meanwhile, acting on a joint team of officers and jawans of District Police Force and CRPF 157 Battalion and CRPF’s BDDS team was formed and a search operation was launched. All the bombs were defused by the Bomb Destroy Team of CRPF by detonating on the spot itself.

Saraikela-Kharsawan: Jharkhand Police with a joint search operation with CRPF jawans have recovered 15-pressure bombs, planted smoothly inside the dense forest area at Kucahi under Saraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand on Wednesday.

This area is the border area of Chaibasa, Ranchi, Khunti. Due to being a very densely forested and hilly area, Naxalites visit this area for years. In order to prevent the police from entering this area, IED bombs and explosives are laid at different places by the Naxalites.

However, this time the intentions of the Naxalites were foiled by taking a serious and careful initiative. A great danger averted from the police. A few days ago, a large quantity of IEDs were also recovered during the search operation from Patradih, Dodarda etc. areas of Seraikela Kharsawan district.

 “ We had secret information a squad led by CPI (Maoist) leader ‘Anal da’ planted IEDs in various parts of West Singhbhum, Khunti, Ranchi and Seraikela-Kharswan to cause harm to security personnel. We immediately formed a team and came into action,” he said.

Following the breakthrough, a special team, comprising district armed police force personnel, CRPF jawans and members of its bomb disposal squad, carried out extensive search operations in Kuchai police station area among other places and recovered the IEDs.
