Jamshedpur : Plunging up his campaign, Mahagatbandhan candidate Champai Sorenis also focusing on the importance of effective booth management.
The JMM veteran and three-time MLA from Seraikela knows that booth management is crucial and plays instrumental in election success.The 63-year-old sitting Seraikela MLA Champai Soren is said to close to JMM supremoShibu Soren and party decided try its luck on him.
Champai, who left Kurmi leader AstikMahto and Arvind Singh alias Malkanbehind in getting the ticket for JamshepdurLok Sabha seat, is making extensive tours to the six assembly segments Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, Potka, Ghatshila, Jugsalai and Bahragora to garner support.
�We have asked party workers to focus on booths. We want effective booth management,� Champai said.
He is also making sure that Mahagatbandhan partners Congress, RJD and CPI remain united with JMM. Topics like booth management, general preparations, campaigning in rural and urban pockets.
Champai, who says that he has brought his former JMM mate and Jamshepdur BJP rival and sitting MP BidyutBaranMahato into politics, added he was confident about his victory. �I am visiting urban and rural areas and I am getting support from every pocket. The mahagatbandhan is united in its objective to win this seat,� he added.
He noted that it is a final call and infighting has to end to achieve the goal. �It is important to work with utmost commitment to live up to the expectation of the people of Jamshedpur. It is time party people must wake up,� he noted.
Jamshedpur comprises 25.01 per cent ST voters (over 4 lakh) which are more than Mahtos (kurmi voters) nearly 5.17 per cent (over 84,000). Jugsalai and Bahragora assembly constituencies have the largest concentration of Kurmi votes. The party wants to cash on the tribal sentiments.
� Champai Da is taking every details of the booths. He enjoys a strong base amongst tribal across Kolhan. We are confident that he will woo the voters in his favour,� said a member of the central executive committee of JMM. He added that JMM has in the last few years has managed to polarize tribal voters. The party has been raising issues of domicile and land acquisition policies of the state government. This will help to mobilize voters.
Champai, popularly called Kolhan Tiger, is known for his firebrand politics and, the one who is credited for ensuring mass employment in several industries in the belt of Seraikela Kharswan district.
