Jamshedpur schools feted for cleanliness drive

Jamshedpur, July 6: City schools were felicitated for top performance in Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar.

Deputy Commissioner East Singhbhum Vijaya Jadhav informed that the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar has been instituted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India to recognize, motivate and perpetuate the habit of cleanliness in schools to recognize excellence in cleanliness and hygiene practice. The objective of Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar is to honor those schools which have taken significant steps towards fulfilling the objective of Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan.

The criteria of evaluation were good performance in drinking water, toiletries, hand washing with soap, systematic operation, maintenance of the school, capacity building of children, preparation for rescue of Kovid.

The District Education Officer said that online applications were given by 2106 schools from East Singhbhum district from January to April, which was evaluated by the CRP of the second cluster.

After evaluation 298 schools got five star rating which is highest in the entire state. About 400 schools were rated four stars and other schools were rated three stars and below.

Out of the above, 38 schools got online citations in various categories by the Government of India portal, in which 8 schools were the best in the overall category, besides 30 other schools got online citations in different categories, which was celebrated by the Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate.

It was given to the principal and teachers of the concerned school and inspired everyone to do better and best wishes.Overall category includes Middle School Chandova, Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir Ghatshila, HS Tata Workers Union Kadma, ADLS Middle School Kadma, KGBV Jamshedpur, PS Kadma, Upgraded Middle School Tangerine, KGBV Potka while Upgraded Middle in sub category.
