Jamshedpur: In the run-up to World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, the Jeevan Suicide Prevention Centre, Jamshedpur is organizing a series of awareness programs to spread the message of mental health and emotional well-being. As part of this initiative, students from various schools are actively participating in awareness rallies across the city.
On Tuesday, students of Church School, Beldih and Dayanand Public School held rallies, sensitizing people about the importance of mental health. Earlier, on Monday, students from KPS Mango, DBMS College of Education, and DBMS Career Academy also took part in the campaign.

During the rallies, students pledged to take care of their mental health and emotional well-being, to openly share their thoughts and feelings with trusted people, and to extend support to others experiencing stress, sadness, or suicidal thoughts. They also vowed to work towards removing the stigma associated with mental health in society.
The institution informed that these awareness rallies will continue from September 1 to 9. Carrying placards with inspiring messages, students are spreading the importance of leading a happy and balanced life. They are also performing nukkad nataks (street plays) to highlight the need for caring for one’s mental health.
To recognize this effort, Jeevan announced that on September 10, mementoes will be presented to the participating institutions that actively contributed to the campaign.
Jeevan also appealed to citizens to reach out for mental health support when needed.
