Jamshedpur schools closed due to cold conditions  

Jamshedpur, Jan 3: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav on Tuesday declared holidays for students of classes Nursery to 5 due to dip in mercury.

Amid winters, all government and private schools in Jamshedpur will remain closed till January 8, 2023.

Students from remaining classes would be required to go to school as per their given time table until further orders are issued.

Earlier, Jharkhand Education Minister declared holidays for students of grades 1st-5th till January 8.

Schools will reopen on January 9.

It is worth mentioning that dense fog cover has disrupted morning visibility in the city. IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued an alert of dense fog at isolated areas in eastern and southern Jharkhand while the Met center has issued a forecast of moderate fog in north-western parts of the state.

According to the forecast, fog, mist and clouds would continue to prevail for the next 24- hours.

Weathermen said no significant changes would take place in minimum readings for the next three days after which night reading is expected to witness a fall by two to three degree Celsius.
