Jamshedpur School children and parents bear brunt of Mango Bridge repair

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, March 28: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state media in-charge Krishna Sharma Kali attributed commuting problems of citizens, especially school children and their parents to the Mango Bridge repair work. He said that the repair work being done by Tata Steel Utility and infrastructure Services Ltd (Tata Steel UISL), formerly JUSCO, should have been undertaken during the lockdown period as movement over the Bridge was comparatively less during that phase. Kali said, “Traffic jams are taking a toll on people in the sense that they are finding it difficult to cope with market needs. With resumption of schools and colleges, the students as also their parents are facing testing times. With buses and other heavy vehicles not being allowed to ply across the Bridge, the life of citizens who have to shuttle between Mango and Sakchi has run up against commuting woes. They have picked a wrong time for the Bridge repair that is expected to take a month to complete. The people’s commuting problems have been compounded by the summer heat.”
