Jamshedpur: SCCI writes to PM to curb online business in the interest of small traders

Jamshedpur, Nov. 24: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has written to PM Narendran Modi to take immediate steps to curb activities of online trading companies. Vijay Anand Moonka, hony general secretary has written to Modi that the online trading companies are offering lucrative and due to which the business of small traders is being hit.

“ We want the government to pay attention to this and get the solution. Otherwise, traders will be forced to close their business. This will harm the government revenue and unemployment will also increase,” he said.

He said that e commerce companies attract customers to buy goods by offering different types of discounts. The rates of goods sold by them are much lower than that of traditional traders. There are also reports of selling counterfeit products to consumers.

With the growing trend of e-commerce companies, traders from the traditional shop will have to stop their business and unemployment will increase in the country. With the arrival of e-commerce companies in the market, there has been a significant reduction in the trade of traditional shops.

This business of shopkeepers in Deepawali was quite less. And sales were very low compared to the years, even some shopkeepers had to face the loss. With these online companies coming to the market, many shopkeepers have to compact with these online companies, which are proving to be very difficult and a loss deal.
