Jamshedpur: Saryu Roy raises clogged drains issue with DC

Jamshedpur, June 30 : Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy said that due to rain last evening, water from drains entered the houses in several localities of Jamshedpur East assembly constituency.

The MLA visited many localities and collected information from many localities including Mithila Colony of Baridih, Shaktinagar, Bagunnagar, Namda Basti, Nanak Nagar, Refugee Colony of Golmuri, Gangotri Complex of Baradwari, Kashidih area, behind Sakchi Sagar Hotel, Bhalubasa, Golmuri and Tinplate Chowk.

The main reason for water entering the houses of these areas is the non-cleaning of the drains. Some of the drains include drinking water pipeline, lack of guardwalls on the banks of drains, falling of standing trees in drains, etc.

He met the Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur East Singhbhum at 4 pm and apprised of problems of drain water entering the houses of the settlements.

The Deputy Commissioner called the officials of Tata Steel and JNAC  and instructed them to clean the drains and survey the houses where the drain water has entered and all these measures should be taken so that the drain water does not enter the houses again.
