Jamshedpur: Sarhul Puja today, procession from Sitaramdera

Jamshedpur, April 3: Sarhul Puja, celebrated by tribal communities as worship of nature, will be observed on Monday with a procession commencing from Old Sitaramdera. Rakesh Oraon, President of Central Sarhul Puja Committee informed during a meeting organized at Sarna Bhawan in Old Sitaramdera, said that a procession would be organized on April 4 that will depict Jharkhand unity, culture and tradition. “The procession will include men, women, children, SC and ST community intellectuals, representatives from tribal communities who will dress in traditional attire and dance to the music of traditional instruments,” he informed.

 The procession will start from Oraon Basti in Old Sitaramdera at 3:30 pm and will culminate at Sitaramdera while passing through Lako Bodra Chowk, Agrico Light Signal, Bhalubasa, Kumharpara and main areas of Kasidih.

The procession will be organized by Rajesh Kandeyan, Jugal Bara, Shambhu Mukhi, Nandlal Patar, Durgamani Boipai, Gangaram Tirkey, Budhram Khalkho, Ramu Tirkey, Soma Koya, Bablu Khalkho and others.
