Jamshedpur: Sakchi police station in-charge, inspector Anand Mishra, completed his first-ever full marathon, covering the 42.197 km distance in the 20th Tata Mumbai Marathon in 5 hours, 23 minutes, and 31 seconds. Inspector Mishra, who had previously participated in half marathons, was honored by various organizations upon returning to Jamshedpur for his achievement.
The prestigious Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025, flagged off by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, saw over 50,000 participants competing in categories such as the full marathon, half marathon, 10 km race, dream run, senior citizen run, and champions with disabilities run. Tight security arrangements were in place for the event.

In the men’s full marathon, Berhane Tesfay of Eritrea clinched gold with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 44 seconds, followed closely by Merhavi Kesete (2:11:50) and Tesfaye Demeke of Ethiopia (2:11:56). Among Indian men, Anish Thapa emerged as the top performer, completing the race in 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 23 seconds, followed by Man Singh at 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 37 seconds.
