Jamshedpur, September 21: Tata Steel is all set to organise its annual Jamshedpur Run-a-thon on November 5 this year. The 10-km run will kick-off from the JRD Tata Sports Complex with the first race scheduled at 6.15 am. The event is open for all citizens.
“Ten km is the internationally-approved distance for road races by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). There will be different events for various categories of runners. The 10 -km run for elite runners is open for all Indian Nationals and will have a registration fee of Rs 500. Apart from this, there will be a 7-km run (registration fee Rs 300) and a 5-km run for under-16 boys and girls (registration charge Rs 100). The reporting time for all races is 6 am. Online registrations have been opened for all race categories at http://www.tatasteeljsr-run.com. The last date to register is October 30,” said the organizers.
Sports and physical fitness are ingrained in the philosophy of Tata Steel. The Sports Department consistently organises sporting and running events to provide a healthy work-life balance for Tata Steel employees and believes in promoting fitness among stakeholders in the larger community, said a company press release.
