Jamshedpur Robbery: Armed men loot jewellery from Sonari’s MB Jewellers in broad daylight

Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident on Friday, criminals committed a daring robbery at MB Jewellers  near Airport Bazaar under the Sonari police station area of Jamshedpur. The robbery took place at around 1:50 pm and lasted approximately seven minutes. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, revealing the chilling details of the crime.

The footage shows three criminals armed with weapons—two wielding pistols and one carrying what appeared to be a gun. They entered the shop under the pretext of being customers, asking to see rings. At the time, there were other customers, including a couple, browsing the jewellery.

Once inside, the criminals swiftly revealed their weapons, creating a chaotic and terrifying scene. One criminal, stationed at the entrance, pulled out a large bag and brandished the gun-like weapon, instilling fear among the shop’s patrons and staff. The shopkeeper, Kaushal Maalu, and nephew, Rishabh Maalu, were present. In the commotion, Rishabh attempted to seek safety by moving from the shop to an adjoining room.

Amid the panic, Kaushal Maalu conceded to the criminals, telling them they could take whatever they wanted. The assailants then proceeded to loot the shop, systematically taking all the jewellery. After securing their loot, the criminals made a quick escape on a motorcycle, clearly having planned the heist meticulously.

Police were alerted immediately and arrived on the scene shortly after the criminals had fled. City SP Mukesh Lunayat led the investigation team. The police have begun a thorough investigation into the robbery, utilizing the clear images of the criminals captured by the shop’s CCTV cameras and other surveillance footage in the vicinity.

Efforts are underway to identify the suspects based on the footage. The police are confident that the clarity of the images will aid in the swift apprehension of the culprits.

SP Mukesh Lunayat assured the public that all resources are being deployed to bring the perpetrators to justice and urged anyone with information to come forward.

The daring robbery has left the community in shock, highlighting the need for enhanced security measures for local businesses.
