Jamshedpur rivers still on danger mark, NDRF team deployed

Jamshedpur, Aug 3: In the wake of a cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains have lashed Odisha, leading to the release of water from the Bayangbil dam. The impact of the downpour has been felt in Jamshedpur and nearby areas, causing intermittent rainfall. As a result, the city is facing a dual challenge of rising water levels in rivers.

Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers, the major waterways coursing through the city, are currently flowing above the danger mark, raising concerns for residents and the district administration. “The administration has swiftly mobilized the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, which has taken the lead in handling emergency responses. Working in tandem with local authorities, the NDRF is closely monitoring the situation and preparing to address any emergencies that may arise,” said an official.
