Jamshedpur, Dec 26: East Singhbhum district health department here returned to alert mode after the reporting of a new Covid positive patient on 25th December. Earlier, one patient was reported from the district. He reportedly recovered on 2nd December last, sources said.
State health department is already on alert mode after the reported breakout of a new variant of Omicron. All districts have been directed to be prepared for emergency situations in case more Covid positive patients are reported. Tests are being carried out to detect new cases. Health department has directed all districts to take necessary precautionary measures in advance. People have been asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing. A total of 2,29,56,377 samples have been collected in the state so far, out of which 4,42,568 have been reported negative and 5331 have lost their lives, sources said.
