Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Sept. 5: Jharkhand�s COVID-19 tally is nearing 50 thousand on Saturday with the single-day spike of 1334 fresh cases, while the number of recoveries surged past 33 thousand, state health department bulletin showed.
Corona positive cases have climbed to 49377. Saturday�s health bulletin also attributed 5 deaths to the disease taking the state death toll to 460.
Four deaths have been reported from Jamshedpur while one person died of the virus in Dumka.
Jamshedpur continues to top the casualty list with 4 patients losing their life on Saturday, till the filing of this report on Saturday night.
1485 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Saturday. More than 320000 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date while around 16000 active cases are still present in the state.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally is nearing 8000 mark.
244 new cases were reported on Saturday, September 5 taking the East Singhbhum tally near 8000. 322 people recovered of the virus on Saturday, in Jamshedpur. More than 5000 people have recovered and have been discharged in Jamshedpur.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 244 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Saturday.
According to East Singhbhum administration report, more than 220 people have died of coronavirus in Jamshedpur till the filing of this report on late Saturday night. .
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
