Jamshedpur reports 18 Covid-19 infections, 17 recoveries

Jamshedpur, July 10: Covid cases in Jamshedpur saw an upstick on Saturday, with the daily infections in the city rising to 18. Zero death was recorded on July 10. 

City had been registering single digit cases but for the last couple of days the infection has risen to double digits.The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 51681.

17 people recovered of the virus on Saturday taking the total recovery to 50552 while total active cases in Jamshedpur have gone up to 75.

Of the 75 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Of the 18 new cases, 4 are from Sonari, 3 each from Golmuri and Mango, 2 from Parsudih.

As many as 17 people recovered from the virus on Saturday taking the overall recoveries to 50552 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.85%.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 420918 tests per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.85% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.

With 18 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Saturday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May. The positivity rate stood at 0.22% on Saturday.

More than 8200 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.22%. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.22 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 8200 tests in the last 24 hours. 

The Steel City tested 8211 samples, of which, 18 turned out positive while 17 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high numbers of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.22 per cent, the government data showed.

So far in Jamshedpur 1138754 samples have been collected out of which 1120484 have been tested and 1068803 have turned out to be negative.
