Jamshedpur: Renowned Rajnagar doctor kidnapped and murdered, two arrested

Seraikela, August 29: Dr. Brihaspati Mandal, a well-known physician from Rajnagar, was kidnapped and murdered on his way home from Kunabeda. On August 28, 2024, Dr. Mandal was intercepted by three individuals in a white car near Mahesh Kudar. The car stopped, and the assailants forcibly abducted him, fleeing towards Potka.

The kidnapping news spread quickly, prompting immediate alerts to nearby police stations. Kowali police and Potka police, led by in-charge Sameer Tirkey, launched a joint investigation. They soon learned that the abductors had travelled swiftly through Deoli and locked down the area. Tragically, Dr. Mandal was found murdered before the police could intervene. His body was discovered in the bushes of Shukla Bhalki.

In the subsequent police operation, two suspects were apprehended while attempting to flee. Both were found in possession of a pistol. However, one accomplice, Tridev Gop, managed to escape. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, and the police are actively searching for the remaining suspect, sharing his photo on social media in their efforts to locate him.

Dr. Mandal, highly respected in the region for his medical practice, had a clinic in Kunabeda and another in Sijulta. His death has left the community in shock and mourning, as his contributions to healthcare were widely acknowledged. The investigation continues as authorities work to resolve this tragic case.
