Jamshedpur: The minimum temperature in Jamshedpur and surrounding regions is expected to rise gradually by 2-4 degrees Celsius from tomorrow, according to a forecast issued by the Ranchi Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The temperature rise is anticipated to bring some relief to the residents after a chilly spell in recent days.
The IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre has also issued an alert for fog and mist in the mornings over the next 48 hours, urging people to take necessary precautions while traveling during the early hours. It is expected that the fog will be dense in some areas, particularly in the districts of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and other parts of South Chotanagpur.
Meanwhile, the Ranchi Meteorological Centre reported a drop in the minimum temperatures across several places in the state today. Jamshedpur recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5 degrees Celsius, while Daltonganj recorded a slightly colder 8.5 degrees Celsius. The state capital, Ranchi, recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius.
Bokaro Steel City reported a minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius, while Simdega recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 5.1 degrees Celsius. Khunti was not far behind with a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius. Other places like Gumla recorded 5.9 degrees Celsius, while Pakur and Garhwa recorded 9.5 degrees Celsius. Jamtara also reported a minimum temperature around 7 degrees Celsius.
The fluctuating temperatures in various districts have added to the cold wave conditions, with residents of several areas experiencing a significant dip in daytime temperatures as well. Meteorologists have advised the public to stay updated with the latest forecasts and take necessary precautions to avoid health risks associated with the cold weather.
As per the IMD’s extended forecast, the gradual rise in temperatures from tomorrow is likely to bring some relief, but people should still be prepared for chilly mornings and foggy conditions for the next couple of days.
