Jamshedpur records 3 deaths, 50 corona positives on Monday

733 fresh cases, 8 deaths reported in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Aug 17: Eight people died of coronavirus in Jharkhand on Monday, August 17 taking the toll to 255 in the state. Three deaths have been reported in Jamshedpur, two deaths were reported in Koderma while one person each succumbed to the virus in Dhanbad, Sahebganj and Simdega.

COVID-19 tally in Jharkhand has crossed 24,000 mark on Monday, August 17 with 733 new cases reported till the filing of this report.   

733 fresh cases were reported in the state on Monday, taking the state tally to 24067, till the filing of this report.

549 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Monday. 15348 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally is nearing 4000 mark.     

50 new cases were reported on Monday, August 17 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 3890.

The district administration spokesperson informed that 50 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Monday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.

With 3 deaths in Jamshedpur on Monday the death toll in East Singhbhum district has crossed 110 mark. More than 125 patients have died across three hospitals in the city including TMH, MGM and Tinplate Hospital.

Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Palamu 125, Ranchi 92, Bokaro 44, Deoghar 10, Dumka 18, East Singhbhum 50, Giridih 1, Godda 7, Garhwa 4, Gumla 2, Hazaribagh 30, Jamtara 8, Koderma 13, Latehar 19, Pakur 10, Ramgarh 16, Sahebganj 18, Seriakela 16, Simdega 9 and West Singhbhum 27. The state corona tally has climbed to 24067.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.

The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.

The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.

The order said that �All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.�
