Jamshedpur Ramnavami: Elaborate security arrangements with CCTV and drone surveillance

SSP appeals for digital fasting, no deviation from route

Jamshedpur, April 7:  Elaborate security bandobast will be made for the Ramnavami procession to be taken out in the steel city, after a span of two years, on April 11.

A meeting of the Kendriya Peace Committee to review law and order and preparation for the smooth conduct of the Ramnavami procession and the associated festivity was chaired by East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and senior superintendent of police (SSP East Singhbhum) M Tamilvanan.

The deputy commissioner informed that 322 magistrates, 29 zonal magistrates and sufficient number of police officers, police force, RAF, QRT would be deputed for the successful completion of the procession.

From the point of view of security, along with CCTV surveillance of the procession, recording will also be made from drones and video cameras, in such a way that no unwanted elements should remain in any misunderstanding and do not try to disturb the atmosphere of mutual harmony and goodwill.

“Strict action will be taken to deal with it. It is the duty of all of us to protect public property, considering any sensitive news deeply and transmit it to others. A dry day would be declared in the district on the day of the festival and a continuous campaign would be launched to take strict action against illegal liquor vendors. All precautionary measures are being taken by the police administration to ensure that festive atmosphere is not disturbed,” said SSP East Singhbhum.

He said that the concerned officers have been directed to take immediate necessary action regarding the suggestions like cleanliness, drinking water, road repair, repair of dilapidated electricity poles in the meeting.

SDO Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena said that according to the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, all the police station areas and both the Sub-Divisional Officers have taken the feedback after holding a peace committee meeting.

 At the administration level also, all the necessary preparations have been materialised.

“Such Akhara committees, which have not yet taken permission to take out the procession, must obtain permission from the concerned sub-divisional officer of Dhalbhum sub-division and Ghatshila sub-division, so far only 12 applications have been received in Dhalbhum sub-division. In view of the short time,  committees can also submit the application to the concerned station in-charge. Along with the application they would have to provide the phone numbers of 10 responsible persons of the concerned Akhara committee, along with their names. He clarified that no deviation will be allowed in the old route chart in any way.

As a precautionary notice has been given to 754 people, An appeal was issued to observe the festival using traditional musical instruments instead of DJ’s or pre-recorded songs.

SSP said that digital fasting should be observed during the festivity which means spending quality time with family members while staying away from unnecessary phone calls or social media etc.

“Before forwarding any kind of unconfirmed information to other people, definitely bring it to the notice of the senior officers of the police administration. You can contact the officials of the district administration at any time. For the last two years, people have not been able to celebrate the festival due to the Corona period, in such a situation, there is an appeal to celebrate the festival in a peaceful environment while maintaining consciousness in enthusiasm. Be sure to follow the guidelines, action has been taken in the past regarding the use of DJ and pre-recorded songs, this time also take special care so that the rules are not violated and the festival can be celebrated with mutual coordination.

An internal review meeting was held by the senior officials of the district for better maintenance of law and order regarding Ram Navami festival. All zonal magistrates, magistrates, police officers, police forces were given a clear order that only after the procession has returned to its destination, they will leave their deputation site only after the permission of the senior officers. Neecessary guidelines were also given to maintain smooth traffic system during the procession.
