Jamshedpur, Feb 8: A group of tribals protested the attempt to carry out fencing of the Adivasi Sarna Sthal at Golmuri on Wednesday. A team of Tata Steel officials had reached the scene, but had to return on facing stiff resistance from the tribals.
The protestors said they will not allow anyone to fence the Adivasi Sarna Sthal as Adivasis have long been performing puja here. They said letters were earlier sent to the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner and Sub Divisional Officer in this regard. They said they had also opposed the fencing bid earlier.
