Jamshedpur: Swift action by emergency teams brought the propylene gas leak incident near Jamshola on the Baharagora-Baripada road under control on Wednesday. The damaged tanker, which had been leaking gas since morning, was secured under expert supervision, and the gas was safely transferred to another vehicle. The replacement tanker has since resumed its journey to the intended destination.
According to officials, the situation is now fully stable, and normal traffic movement on the national highway has been restored. Commuters, who were earlier advised to avoid the stretch due to safety concerns, have begun using the route again as restrictions were lifted in phases.
Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, who monitored the operation closely, commended the coordinated efforts of the technical experts, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire services, police, and local villagers. He noted that the prompt response and effective teamwork were instrumental in preventing any untoward incident.
“The potential danger could be successfully averted due to the quick action and cooperation of all agencies involved,” the Deputy Commissioner said. Authorities have assured that a thorough inspection will be conducted to ensure the safety of passing vehicles and to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
