Jamshedpur, April 26: A day after the city police raided a city hotel and busted a spa running amid lockdown, the police have on Sunday summoned at the Bistupur police station three city-based businessmen� once again after they had been taken into custody from a Bistupur-based hotel for breaking lockdown.

Those nabbed were identified as Rajesh Mangotia, Deepak Agarwal and Rajat Jaggi and were subsequently released on PR bond on Saturday night. ��

The police have also taken a girl (Kolkata Resident) from the hotel for staying there despite the lockdown while carrying out a thorough search of it by a team of police and administrative officer on Sunday.

Sources informed that the police are trying to find whether the hotel was running a sex racket in the pretext of spa or not. �

The police and administrative officers are carrying out a meticulous search of the hotel as they had been tipped off that the hotel management were running a spa at its premises in violation of the lockdown and allegedly other objectionable activities. The hotel has also been sealed.

Revealing about the step being taken by the administration, senior SP, Anoop Birtharay said that the during the raid at The Alcor Hotel in Bistupur on Saturday evening, they had nabbed three persons, but two girls and as many men had managed to escape.

“The police had arrested the three persons for breaking the lockdown and had� released them all on PR bond from the Bistupur thana late on Saturday night, we wanted to get the fresh probe into the affair as we had also information that some illegal activities were also going on in the hotel during the lockdown which is a serious thing to happen.�

We are carrying out an investigation to see if what they had been tipped off was true.� If we find evidence of any wrong doing, then we may seal the hotel,” said Birtharay.

Meanwhile, an official said that the district administration is abiding by the guideline of the Ministry of Home Affair (MHA), New Delhi and as per the MHA no additional relief will be given to the residents living in municipal area.�

But in the non-municipal area, industrial activity and agricultural activities can be resumed.
In accordance to the MHA’s guideline, the lockdown in Jamshedpur which comprised of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, Jugsalai Municipality and Mango Notified Area will remain effective till May 3 like it has been since March 25.
