Jamshedpur police solve nurse murder case, DAV School Bistupur student arrested

Jamshedpur, Jan 5: Police cracked nurse Anita Sharma murder case of Kadma Ramnagar by arresting a 16 -year-old boy on Tuesday. The minor assailant is son of the 50-year-old man Arvind Kumar Singh who had a live-in relationship with Anita, a nurse working at Brahmananda Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in Tamulia.

Anita’s (43) body was found lying at a flat on the first floor of Jayanti Apartment on Road No 3 in Ramnagar under Kadma police station area late in the night of December 31.  

Deputy superintendent of police (Headquarters-II), Arvind Kumar said that the assailant boy was hurt as the nurse had illicit relations with his father.

“As per our investigation, the assailant boy who is a plus two student of DAV Public School, Bistupur had come to the nurse’s flat from his house in Bagbera in the early morning.  He came to the victim’s house and the boy had first tried to convince her not to continue the relationship with his father as this was affecting their family also.  But when she did not assure him anything, the boy asked her to give him Rs 200 for his bike.  As the woman went to her almirah and was opening it to fetch the money, the boy came from behind and strangulated her to death.  Subsequently, he brought a kitchen knife and hit at the victim’s body repeatedly,” said Kumar.

The DSP (headquarters-II) said while killing the nurse, the boy was wearing gloves, but soon after he removed them and wiped the blood-stained knife with the pair of gloves and put both the gloves as well as the knife in a water tank at the victim’s house.  

Arvind Kumar Singh who is a businessman had two children, the assailant son and a 14-year-old daughter, and wife.

“During our probe Arvind had been claiming that he did kill Anita repeatedly, we kept him under custody for the past four days and eventually started interrogating his family members also.  During the grilling of each of the family members separately we came to know that there was very strong resentment to the illicit relationship of the man with the nurse, and serious quarrelling was a regular affair since the past one-and-half-years when they came to know about it, though the relationship was since the past six years,” said the DSP (Headquarters-ii).
