Jamshedpur police patrol market areas, shops shut by 8 pm

Jamshedpur, April 8: By 8 pm on Thursday, busy thoroughfares wore a deserted look with most people in a rush to get back home.

Police patrolling had been intensified to ensure that all shops and other business establishments had downed shutters by 8 pm.

Yet, in spite of it all, some shops had half shutters downed and business was being done in clandestine manner but at the sight of police teams, the shutters were being totally dropped.

Street corner food stalls in Bistupur, Sakchi, Kadma, Sonari and other places were seen doing last minute sale long past 8 pm.

However, such hide and seek activities were comparatively few. Otherwise busy streets had a deserted look at Bistupur and Kadma Bazaars and Mango road.

The district and police administrations went round the city on Thursday to ensure that business establishments had downed shutters by 8 pm.

COVID tests were conducted at the Mango bus stand on Thursday. Four persons were tested corona positive.

The district administration on Thursday sealed two shops in Kadma and Sonari and seven in Govindpur for violating COVID protocols.
