Jamshedpur Police Deploy 3K Personnel For Peaceful, Safe Holi

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Police have intensified security arrangements as the “Festival of Colours” approaches. To ensure a harmonious Holi, the district administration has adopted a proactive, technology-driven approach. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Piyush Pandey stated that the force is committed to safeguarding public peace during the festivities.

Digital Vigilance Against Rumours

A major focus this year is the monitoring of social media. The Cyber Cell is now tracking platforms like WhatsApp and X (formerly Twitter) in real-time. This move aims to prevent the spread of provocative content or misinformation that could disrupt communal harmony.

Furthermore, local peace committees have been mobilized. These members will act as a bridge between the public and the police to report any suspicious digital activity immediately.

On-Ground Deployment and Safety Drives

To maintain law and order, more than 3,000 police personnel will be stationed across the city. Special focus will be given to crowded marketplaces and residential areas.

Key Security Measures:

  • Quick Response Teams: Units will remain on standby for any emergencies.
  • Patrol Units: Increased frequency of mobile patrolling in sensitive zones.
  • Crowd Control: Strict monitoring of public places where large gatherings are expected.

Strict Action Against Drunk Driving

Road safety remains a top priority for the Traffic Police and the Excise Department. Consequently, special drives will target rash driving and drunk driving throughout the festival.

Officers will use breathalysers at key locations to deter violators. Officials stressed that they will take strict action against anyone involved in hooliganism or unlawful activities. By combining technology with community participation, the administration aims to ensure a joyful and safe Holi for all.
