Jamshedpur: Police crack Kamalpur Robbery case, seven arrested

Jamshedpur: Police have cracked the robbery case that occurred on the night of Saturday-Sunday at Maa Tara Construction Company in Bankunchia, under the Kamalpur police station area. Seven individuals involved in the heist have been apprehended.

Those arrested include Sanatan Tanti alias Sonu from Chowka in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, and Sandeep Kumar, Prakash Mahato, Ashok Mahato, Umesh Kumar Mahato, Gangu Munda alias Gunga Munda, and Umesh Kumar Mahato from the Adki police station area. The police have recovered the looted sum of ₹1.20 lakh, a car, a mobile phone, and weapons used during the robbery.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal revealed at a press conference on Thursday that Sanatan Tanti, who worked as a Hyva driver for the construction company, masterminded the robbery. Leveraging his insider knowledge, Sanatan conspired with his associates to execute the crime.

On the day of the incident, Prakash and Gangu procured the weapons, while Ashok Mahato arrived with a car to facilitate the robbery. Four of the accused—Sandeep, Prakash, Gangu, and Ashok—entered the company premises and carried out the heist, while Umesh kept watch outside.

The breakthrough in the case came when police apprehended Sanatan Tanti during the initial investigation. His interrogation led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the other six accused.

The recovery of the stolen items and the prompt action of the Patamda police highlight their efficiency and dedication. SSP Kaushal commended the investigation team for solving the case swiftly, ensuring justice for the victimized company.
