Jamshedpur : In a bid to curb rising crime and strengthen public confidence in law enforcement, Jamshedpur Police carried out an extensive foot march on Monday across several sensitive areas, including Mango and Azadnagar.

The operation was led by City SP Kumar Shivashish, accompanied by DSPs, station in-charges, Quick Response Teams (QRT), and a large contingent of police personnel.

The march began from the Mango police station and covered Jawahar Nagar (No. 15), Chepapul, Daiguttu, Road No. 5, Dimna Road, and Old Purulia Road, before concluding in the Azadnagar police station area. During the march, officers interacted with shopkeepers, pedestrians, and local residents, listening to their concerns and gathering suggestions related to safety and law enforcement.

Residents noted that such initiatives instill fear among anti-social elements and reassure the public about their security.

Speaking to the media, City SP Kumar Shivashish emphasized that crime control remains the top priority for the police.

“This foot march is not a mere formality. It is part of a concrete strategy to curb crime and unlawful activities. Our aim is to create an environment where citizens feel comfortable approaching the police directly and lodging complaints without hesitation,” he said.

He further stated that night patrolling, routine police rounds, intelligence gathering, and surveillance have been intensified across the city.

The police are also keeping a strict watch on suspicious individuals and groups involved in anti-social activities.

During the march, the police urged residents to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity.

Locals appreciated the proactive approach of the police and said such operations play a crucial role in strengthening peace and order in the city.
