Jamshedpur Police bust gang of burglars with stolen batteries

Jamshedpur, May 10: The police busted a gang of burglars after recovering stolen batteries and inverters worth over Rs 5 lakh from Telco police station �area in the wee hours. The police also arrested four persons by conducting raids at various localities, including Baridih in Sidhgora police station �area, Golmuri and Barinagar in Telco police station �area. Those arrested have been identified as Mohammed Sahbaz, Raj Singh, Mohammed Sultan, and Raje Singh, all between the age-group of 25-32 years.

The batteries and inverters were stolen from a battery shop, Dhanesh Enterprises located at Bajrang Chowk in Baridih under Sidhgora police station  area on April 7.  A gang of unknown burglars had stolen the batteries and inverters.

Owner of the Dhanesh Enterprises had lodge complain, leading a police team to inspect the spot. It was clear from the scene that the criminals had carried stolen goods in a mini-truck as there were tyre marks of such  a vehicle close to the shop.

The criminals had decamped with about a dozen batteries and as many inverters worth over Rs 5 lakh. Revealing about the breakthrough, OC, Sidhgora police station , Manoj Kumar Thakur said that the police on Friday evening got a tip off about the gang which was involved in the theft of the batteries and inverters from Dhanesh Enterprises.
