Jamshedpur police arrest lover, solve murder case of 18-year-old girl

Jamshedpur, Jan 28: Jamshedpur police have managed to solve the mysterious case of recovery of body of a teenaged girl alongside the Barajamda-Kiriburu Main Road on Tuesday with the arresting of the lover of the girl from Jamshedpur.

During investigation the murder was a fallout of love affair turned sour.  According to Kiriburu SDPO, Hiralal Ravi, resident of Roladih, in Jamshedpur, Manoj Mahakud had eloped with his lover Reshma Mahakud (18) on the night of January 25. The parents of the girl complained to the police on January 25 itself.

Jamshedpur police nabbed the lover Manoj Mahakud from Hata and started interrogating him about the girl. After police pressure, Manoj admitted that he had murdered Reshma and thrown the body in a forest. On the direction of Manoj police also recovered the body of Reshma on the evening of January 26 and sent the accused to Ghaghidih Central jail and the body of the girl for post mortem to MGM Medical College.

The accused who is a truck driver by profession confessed that he decided to eliminate his lover after she started pressurising him for marriage. He had murdered his lover in Jamshedpur itself and taken the body on a van and threw it around 200 km away along a ditch near the Kiriburu-Barajamda Main Road.
