Jamshedpur: In a major breakthrough, the Jamshedpur Police have arrested eight members of the gang responsible for the high-profile kidnapping of Kairav Gandhi, the son of a local businessman. Following the safe return of the victim, the police launched an operation under the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to track down the culprits.
The operation resulted in the capture of eight kidnappers in the Barhi area of Hazaribagh. Along with the arrests, police recovered two SUVs used in the crime and a cache of illegal firearms. The suspects are currently being interrogated at undisclosed locations to dismantle the rest of the network.
Precision Trap in Plainclothes
According to departmental sources, the police had obtained precise intelligence regarding the movement of the criminals. A special team dressed in civilian attire was deployed to Barhi to monitor the gang’s activities without raising suspicion. The criminals, unaware of the surveillance, were intercepted and surrounded as soon as they reached a location historically known as a clandestine meeting spot for criminal deals. The seized vehicles have been transported back to a local police station in Jamshedpur for further forensic examination.
SSP Fulfills Promise to Business Community
The arrests come a day after a delegation of local businessmen met with the SSP to express their gratitude for Kairav’s safe release. During that meeting, the SSP had emphasized that while the child’s safety was the initial priority, the pursuit of the criminals was ongoing. He said that the police were closing in on the perpetrators. The news of the successful arrests on Wednesday morning has significantly bolstered public confidence within the city’s industrial and commercial sectors.
Hunt for the Mastermind Intensifies
The Jamshedpur Police are now focused on identifying the mastermind behind the abduction. Investigators are questioning the eight suspects to determine the extent of their network and to identify local accomplices who may have provided logistical support or information within the city. The SSP is expected to hold an official press conference shortly to provide a comprehensive disclosure of the case details.
