Jamshedpur picnic spots bustle with holiday cheer on second Sunday of 2025

Jamshedpur: The Sunday winter joy is revisiting Jamshedpur. The second Sunday of 2025, January 12, saw a festive spirit as families and groups of friends thronged popular picnic spots in and around the city. The sunny winter day, despite a minimum temperature of 9°C, turned out to be perfect for a day out, with people making the most of the Sunday holiday.

Dimna Lake, Jubilee Park, Hudco Dam and Chandil Dam were among the most visited destinations, attracting not only locals but also visitors from neighboring areas and other cities. The serene beauty of Dimna Lake offered a picturesque backdrop for families enjoying leisurely picnics, while Jubilee Park, with its expansive lawns and gardens, became a hub of activity with children playing games and elders relaxing in the sun.

At Chandil Dam, visitors relished the scenic views and enjoyed activities like boating and photography. The crisp winter air and the warmth of the afternoon sun provided an ideal setting for picnics, as groups set up makeshift tents, spread out mats, and indulged in homemade food and snacks.

The crowd began arriving early in the morning, and the influx continued until late evening. The vibrant atmosphere was complemented by roadside vendors selling tea, snacks, and local delicacies, catering to the needs of the visitors.

“We planned this outing to spend some quality time with family. The weather is cold but pleasant enough to enjoy the outdoors,” said Kadma resident Rahul Nayak, at Dimna Lake.

Security was well-maintained at these spots, ensuring that everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience.
