Jamshedpur, Feb 1: Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh members staged a demonstration before Jamshedpur Collectorate here on Wednesday and protested against fee hike in various private schools of the city.
The outfit president Dr Umesh Kumar alleged that several private schools had increased fees in a whimsical manner. They sadi some schools had increased the fees by up to 205 per cent. As per Jharkhand Education Tribunal Amendment Act 2017, the schools can increase the fees by 10 per cent after getting approval for the same from the district committee headed by Deputy Commissioner (DC) formed to review fee hikes by schools, said the protestors.
The protestors handed over a memorandum to the DC and demanded revocation of the school fee hike.
