Jamshedpur, June 11: East Singhbhum district administration went into alert mode after the incident of violence in Ranchi yesterday. Police and paramilitary forces conducted flag march in sensitive areas and appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony.

DSP Patamada, Amit Kumar, said special focus is being paid on keeping peace in sensitive areas. Flag march was taken out in Mango, Azadnagar and other localities of the city to boost public confidence and increase police visibility. He appealed to the people to maintain peace and communal harmony and avoid rumours.

Sources said additional forces have been deployed in the sensitive areas from strategic point of view and all police stations have been put on alert mode. Anti-crime checking is also being conducted in all police station areas.

Sources went on to add that a special team has been set up to keep a close watch on social media posts by the citizens. Those posting objectionable messages would be strictly dealt with, they said.
