The SSP said the names of four persons have surfaced in the police investigation so far. Two accused including one Anil Kumar of Adityapur have been arrested. Search is on to arrest the other two accused, he said.

“The enmity between Ranjeet and his rival Sholay led to the killing. While in jail, Ranjeet had reported beaten up Sholay and spat on his face. Sholay felt insulted after the incident and wanted to take revenge. He murdered Ranjeet with the help of his three associates,” said the SSP.

According to the SSP, Anil Kumar was arrested for giving shelter to Sholay and other criminals. An investigation is on to identify all those who could be involved in the murder planning and its execution.
