Jamshedpur, July 9: Jamshedpur Police apprehended Ganesh Singh alias Nishant Singh, the prime suspect in the Ranjit Singh murder case, along with two accomplices, Ravi Jaiswal and Aman Singh. The arrests took place near Galudih on NH-33 following a tip-off about their movement from Kolkata to Jamshedpur.
Jamshedpur SP Kaushal Kishore revealed that the police had been conducting extensive raids to capture Ganesh Singh, who had been evading arrest since the murder on October 3, 2022, near Sabuj Kalyan Sangh in the Telco police station area.
The operation yielded significant recoveries that included a white MG Hector car, a licensed 0.32 bore pistol with two magazines, 18 live rounds of ammunition, 8 mobile phones and a trolley bag containing personal effects
Ganesh Singh was wanted for the Ranjit Singh murder, while Aman Singh was absconding in a separate case (GRP Jamshedpur Police Station Case No. 41/2024). Ravi Jaiswal faces charges for harboring the fugitives and facilitating their movements.
SP Kishore stated that the arrested individuals have confessed to involvement in multiple criminal activities, including illegal land dealings. All three have been sent to judicial custody, with Ravi Jaiswal facing additional charges for protecting known criminals.
