Jamshedpur, April 4: A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Firoz Khan by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jamshedpur, Nishant Kumar, in an extortion case.
Sources said a contractor, one Mohammad Mushtaq Khan, had registered a case against the JMM leader with the Bistupur police station on 7th December 2014. As per the complainant, he was returning home around 10.30 pm when the accused persons and others stopped him midway and started abusing him. The accused persons beat up the complainant. Equipped with dagger and hockey sticks, the accused persons demanded extortion money worth Rs 5 lakh from the complainant.
The complainant said he worked as a civil contractor at the Circuit House at the time of the incident. He said Firoz Khan, Shakeel and others had assaulted him on 18th March 2015.
