Jamshedpur, Dec, 30: Movement of all heavy vehicles have been banned between 6 am and midnight on January 1, 2023, in view of the New Year celebrations. This decision was taken following a meeting of district administrative officials with Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and SSP Prabhat Kumar.
The meeting also ordered implementation of banning movement of heavy vehicles between 5 pm and 2 am on December 31, the New Year eve. However this guideline will not apply to passenger buses.
The administration will remain vigilant in and around the city to ensure that the law and order situation is not disturbed during New Year day celebrations. Police personnel would be stationed on main roads and other thoroughfares to check vehicles. Special eye will be maintained on drug addicts. Strict action would be taken on people caught driving two wheelers and other vehicles in inabriated condition. All PS OCs, along with SSP, City SP and DSPs will keep close watch on city movement.
